EXPERIENCE:
Dr. Sibeck joined NASA/GSFC in 2002, after having worked at JHU/APL from 1985-2002. He was detailed to NASA HQ from 2003 to 2004 to assist with the Living With a Star program. He is the author or co-author of over 180 refereed scientific articles on the nature of the solar wind-magnetosphere interaction. Dr. Sibeck is the Project Scientist for the LWS Geospace, Targeted Research and Technology, and THEMIS Exploration projects, as well as a co-investigator on the forthcoming THEMIS and MMS missions. He is presently an Associate Editor for GRL, Corresponding Editor for EOS, and Guest Editor for Space Weather. Dr. Sibeck is the Coordinator for the NSF’s GEM Global Interactions campaign and serves on the committee advising NASA’s Sun-Earth Connection on MO&DA issues. He is the Executive Secretary for the International Living with a Star initiative, which coordinates space plasma physics research efforts. He received the AGU’s MacElwane award in 1991 and is an AGU Fellow.
