Funded by NOAA and the USAF, Goddard SFC engineers have successfully retrieved the Triana/DSCOVR spacecraft
from storage and activated it in testing that amply demonstrates its health. The spacecraft now is ready for
minor refitting as appropriate to an operational space weather deployment in orbit about the Sun-Earth L1
Lagrangian point. This provides a fast and inexpensive option for this, and NOAA is reportedly seeking
funds to establish this capability in its FY2011 budget.
